With Butler: Tri Vo

About Tri

Tri Vo isn’t afraid of doing hard things. As the founder of Fierce Whiskers and Carbon Better, he’s challenging the status quos in two completely different industries — whiskey and energy. His ambition makes him an inspiring person to work with. But his cool demeanor and willingness to try new things, make it fun as hell.

We worked closely with Tri to develop the brand for Fierce Whiskers. Back then, he didn’t have a whiskey yet. He didn’t even have a distillery built yet. But he did have a vision and a clear intention. And this year, Fierce Whiskers released its very first rye which we helped launch with a pop-up bar in the middle of a lake. (We told you he was fun to work with.)

As part of our With Butler series, Tri shares why it’s important not to overthink things and why he collaborates so well with so many different people.

In a word or two, how would you describe working with Butler?

Powerful + joyful

What’s the one thing you love most about your job?

I love growing team members and celebrating their wins.

What’s the most valuable piece of advice someone has given you?

Don’t overthink things and just do you. Sometimes decisions are tough and I’m naturally the kind of person that weighs pros and cons over and over. Overthinking is counterproductive and trusting the person you are has worked well for me.

What quality do you value most in a collaborator?

Open mind

Who’s the one person you work best with and why?

Despite taking some time I struggled to come up with a singular person. I think I work well with a diverse set of people. I enjoy meeting people where they are and am excited to learn about their perspective.
