TEQUILA 512
From MEX to ATX.
Scott Willis started Tequila 512 with an idea and a plane ticket from Austin to Guadalajara. To help him redefine his brand, we made the same pilgrimage to the La Cofradia Distillery in the small town of Tequila. The trip inspired everything from the brand story and product messaging to the hand-painted look of the bottle redesign.

AGAVE FIELD TRIP
To begin our design process, we first had to renew our passports. We were given the opportunity to visit the distillery in the town of Tequila. We were inspired by the laid-back vibe, welcoming people and the hand painted signs all over the town, which are also unique characteristics of Austin. The name is Tequila 512, and after the trip, we realized how perfectly it represented the connection between the two places—Tequila, MX and Austin, TX—that helped create it.
