Real Ale is the largest independent craft brewer in Texas. Over the last 25 years, they’ve built one of the most award-winning and diverse line-ups in the entire industry. Yet many of their individual beers were more famous than the brewery itself. To continue their growth in the crowded craft beer space, they needed a way to build off past successes while creating a more cohesive brand capable of scaling well into the future. We designed a completely new identity and packaging system to help drinkers see that their beers are all part of a bigger family.

TEXAS 4EVER
Firemans 4 is Real Ale’s flagship and a Texas craft beer legend. So we gave Firemans its own unique look that still fit within the larger brand look, highlighting its iconic four sprocket logo.
TAKING A POSITION
Because all of Real Ale’s beer is unfiltered and unpasteurized, it’s impossible to ship it very far and still maintain its quality and freshness. Two things they are unwilling to compromise. So they chose to never ship their beer outside of Texas. We turned this internal strategic business decision into a bold and ownable external-facing brand position.
